DUPLIN COUNTY, FASTER INTERNET IS ON THE WAY!

FOCUS Broadband was recently awarded a grant through the North Carolina Department of Information Technology GREAT Grant Program totaling $4 million dollars to provide a 100% fiber optic network with speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second to more than 900 residents and businesses located in rural communities near the Chinquapin, Cypress Creek and Beulaville. FOCUS Broadband will contribute $535,000 in matching funds to complete the project.

In 2021, FOCUS Broadband was awarded two grants through the North Carolina Department of Information Technology GREAT Grant Program to provide services to homes and businesses in unserved and underserved areas of Duplin County. When combined, the two grants will allow FOCUS Broadband to provide a 100% fiber optic network with speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second to over 1,047 residents and businesses in the rural communities near Rose Hill, Magnolia and Teachey. We are currently working to construct the network that will be used to serve these areas.

We would like to offer our sincere thanks to the many residents, farmers, business owners and community leaders who supported us in our work to secure these grants. Your support was a key factor in helping make our application a success. We are excited to be able to serve you.

March 25, 2024 - Service is now available in many areas including Rose Hill, Teachey, Wallace, Greenevers, Magnolia, and Kenansville. Please see the map below to see all areas where service is available. There are only a few phases left to complete in this project.

FOCUS Broadband also won grant funds to build additional areas near Chinquapin, Maready, Cypress Creek, Jackson Crossroads, Quinns Store, Pin Hook and more. We hope to begin construction in some of these areas in the spring.

We are grateful to Four County EMC for allowing us to use some of their fiber to connect our Duplin County network back to our existing network until we can build a permanent connection through Pender County.

The map shown is for illustrative purposes. All FOCUS Broadband services may not be available at all addresses. Actual availability of services is not guaranteed and must be verified before an order may be placed. Availability of services at specific addresses may be impacted by a multitude of factors including our ability to obtain permission to construct on private property. Addresses which require construction of network facilities over 1,000 feet may necessitate the customer pay aid in construction charges.
