PERQUIMANS COUNTY, FASTER INTERNET IS ON THE WAY!
Great news! FOCUS Broadband has been awarded funding from the North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) through their Completing Access to Broadband (CAB) Program. This grant will enable us to bring high-speed internet service to 500 additional addresses in rural communities near New Hope, Belvidere, Chapanoke and Bethel. As part of this initiative, FOCUS Broadband will contribute an additional $642,576 in funds, with Perquimans County contributing $214,192.
This is the third grant FOCUS Broadband has received to connect rural Perquimans County residents. In 2022, we were awarded two NCDIT Growing Rural Economies with Access to Technology (GREAT) Grants totaling $8 million dollars. These funds are being used to build a 100% fiber optic network capable of delivering gigabit speeds to over 2,900 residents and businesses in communities near Chapanoke, New Hope, Winfall and Woodville.
Once all three projects are completed, FOCUS Broadband will have provided high-speed internet access to more than 3,500 Perquimans County residents and businesses.

July 2, 2024 – We are now serving customers in some areas of Perquimans County! Service is available along parts of New Hope Road, Woodland Church Road, Powers Lane, Gibson Road, Shipyard Road, Hoskins Lane, Boat Ramp Road, Long Branch Court, Skippers Court, Cartwright Swamp Road, Chapanoke Road, Ocean Highway North, Poplar Circle, Cove Road, Camp Perry Road and more. Construction progress continues to be made in other areas with more addresses expected to be turned up in the coming weeks. Please use the map below to see if your address is included in our future service area.
